Why Sour Diesel is a reference strain

Sour Diesel has been around long enough that it became a parent for many newer strains, including the hybrid we sell as Sour Grape. When people describe a jar as gassy or diesel-forward, Sour Diesel is often the strain they are comparing it to.

Because the name is so popular, different growers may carry different cuts under it. A true-to-type jar should smell loudly of fuel with a citrus-sour edge as soon as it opens. If the smell is mild, ask us about the current batch.

How customers use Sour Diesel

Most shoppers roll it or pack a bowl earlier in the day. The fuel aroma is strong, so a sealed jar or smell-proof bag helps if you are carrying it.

Sativa-leaning strains like this are commonly described as upbeat and head-focused, but every batch and every person differs. Start low and go slow: one or two draws, then wait several minutes.

Storing a loud strain

Fuel aromas travel. Keep Sour Diesel in an airtight glass jar, out of light and heat, and avoid keeping the jar near anything that absorbs smells. Stored well, the diesel and citrus top notes last much longer; left in a bag, they fade and the flower can turn harsh.
