Macdonald Special Select Full Flavor 25 Pack Cigarettes

Macdonald Special cigarettes in Special Select Full Flavor come in a 25 pack, and they are one of the best-known Canadian cigarette names on our tobacco shelf for adult smokers 18 and over. The full-bodied blend suits smokers who want a strong, traditional tobacco taste in a bigger pack.

What it is

• Brand: Macdonald Special Select
• Style: Full Flavor
• Pack: 25 cigarettes

Do these still exist? Yes, these are still sold, and yes, we stock them. People sometimes search for them as McDonald or “McDo” cigarettes, but the brand is spelled Macdonald.

A Montreal tobacco name

The Macdonald name has a long history in Canadian tobacco. It comes from Macdonald Tobacco, which manufactured on Ontario Street East in Montreal, was later bought by R.J. Reynolds, and whose Canadian business is now part of JTI-Macdonald under Japan Tobacco International. That history helps explain why the name is so familiar to smokers in Quebec, and why so many people still ask for Macdonald cigarettes at our counter by name.

Macdonald cigarette types we list

Most Canadian cigarette brands offer a fuller-tasting and a lighter-tasting style, often in different pack sizes. For Macdonald, we list:

• Special Select Full Flavor 25 pack: this one, the fuller-tasting option.
• Special Select Light 25 pack: the lighter-tasting option.

You may also hear other Macdonald names, such as “Subtle.” We cannot confirm every variant is still made, so call and we will tell you exactly what is on our shelf.

Full flavour is about taste, not safety

“Full flavour” describes taste and strength of draw only. No cigarette is safe, and no style, size or pack name lowers the health risks of smoking.

“Light” works the same way. It describes taste and draw, and it is not a lower-risk choice.

Who it is for

It is for established adult smokers who already prefer a full-bodied cigarette and like the value of a 25 pack. It is not for non-smokers, anyone under 18, or anyone trying to quit. A pharmacist or doctor can help if you want to stop.
