Hot-day tips
Freezies tend to come out in summer, and summer plans add their own risks: water, boats and long drives home.
- Drink plenty of plain water and stay in the shade
- Do not swim, boat or drive after eating it
- Skip alcohol; the two together are much harder to judge
- Take a small section and wait at least two hours
Sharing in a group
If you are splitting one freezie between friends, cut it frozen into equal sections so everyone knows roughly how much they had. Never hand a THC freezie to someone who does not know what it is, and keep the cooler clearly labelled and away from children and pets.
Anyone pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or with a health condition should ask a doctor or pharmacist before using cannabis.

What 50mg means for you
Fifty milligrams of THC is twenty times the 2.5mg that Health Canada suggests people new to edibles start with. Health Canada also notes edibles can take 30 minutes to 2 hours to start and up to 4 hours to reach full effect. The same freezie can feel very different from one person to the next, depending on tolerance, body weight and what you have eaten.
If you are new to edibles, this is not the right first product; a 2.5mg dose is a sliver too small to cut reliably, so choose a lower-dose edible instead. If you are experienced, cut it while frozen into small, even sections and start with one. You can always have another section later; you cannot take back what you have already eaten.
Edibles take time, so give it at least two hours. Plan to stay put once you have had some, and let a sober friend do the driving.
Freezies also travel badly. If you are bringing one to a cottage, pack it in a small cooler of its own with a clear label, separate from the drinks and ice pops meant for everyone else, and keep that cooler out of reach of children.
