Hunter Hash

Classic pressed hash with smooth texture and balanced effects. Popular with local Oka customers.

Hunter Hash is a classic pressed hash known for a smooth burn and reliable consistency, and it is one of the pieces we point customers from Oka and around our shop in Kanesatake to first. We carry it at our Indigenous-women-owned store for adults who enjoy traditional hash.

What Hunter Hash is

  • Format: pressed hash
  • Texture: firm, smooth, easy to work
  • Burn: even and consistent, as our regulars describe it
  • Potency: ask our team for current batch details

Hash is a concentrate made from the resin glands, or trichomes, of the cannabis plant, collected and pressed into a solid. That is why it is stronger than flower by weight.

Hash near Oka, from our shop in Kanesatake

A lot of people looking for Oka hash, or asking about Hunters Hash by name, end up with us. We are on Sovereign Kanesatake Mohawk Territory right next to Oka, so it is a short drive for most of the area. See our Kanesatake dispensary page for hours and directions.

How customers use it, and what to expect

Most of our customers crumble a small amount over flower in a joint or bowl. Warming the piece slightly makes it easier to break up. Some people smoke it on its own in a pipe.

Because hash is concentrated, a little goes a long way. Start with a pinch, take one or two small inhalations, and wait several minutes before deciding on more. We make no medical claims; for health questions, talk to a licensed practitioner. Skip it if you are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, or about to drive.

Storing pressed hash

Keep Hunter Hash wrapped in parchment or in a small airtight container, away from heat and light. Pressed hash holds up well, but it can dry out and harden if it is left open, which makes it harder to crumble evenly.

Other hash to compare

If you enjoy Hunter Hash, compare it with Blonde Lebanese or a traditional Temple Ball. Our guide to the best hash at Bear’s Den near Oka walks through the range, and every option sits in our hash category.
