If you are searching for a Gatineau dispensary with more edibles and vape choice, Bear’s Den Cannabis is worth knowing about, with one honest caveat: we are not in Gatineau. We are a single, Indigenous-women-owned shop at 1510B Rang Ste-Philomène in Kanesatake, near Oka, roughly a two-hour drive east of Hull, and Outaouais shoppers have been making that trip since 2018.
We do not deliver to Gatineau or Hull, and we do not sell online or ship. You can browse the menu, call ahead, have your order set aside, and pick it up at our counter.
An Indigenous-owned dispensary for Outaouais shoppers
Many people in Gatineau search for an Indigenous or native-owned dispensary. We are owned by Indigenous women and rooted in Kanesatake, and our own team serves every customer. You can read our story about Bear’s Den.
What Gatineau shoppers drive in for
Cannabis edibles
Edibles are one of the most common things Gatineau shoppers look for on our site. Our THC edibles include gummies, chocolate, cookies, candy, hot chocolate and drink mixes, from lighter doses to stronger ones. Health Canada notes that edibles can take 30 minutes to 2 hours to begin working and up to 4 hours for the full effect, so start low and go slow, especially with a new product.
Disposable CBD vape pens
If you want a vape without THC, our CBD vapes are a simple place to start: Plant of Life disposable pens in flavours such as peppermint, mango, strawberry and watermelon, ready to use with nothing to fill. For any health question, please speak with a licensed practitioner.
THC disposables and vape pens
For THC, our disposable vapes include Ghost Factory, Pegasus Live, Heisenberg Extractions and Drizzle Switch devices, and our vape pen range adds rechargeable Pegasus pens and dual-flavour Heisenberg pens.
Hash, flower, pre-rolls and concentrates round out our full menu. Browse it first and bring a list; it makes a long drive far more efficient.
The drive from Gatineau and Hull
Distance: about 150 km from Hull, a little more from Aylmer and closer to 115 km from Buckingham. Plan on roughly 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours from Hull in normal traffic, less from the east end of the city.
Route: take Autoroute 50 east to Lachute, then Route 327 south to Saint-André-d’Argenteuil, and turn east on Route 344, which follows the Ottawa River and Lac des Deux Montagnes through Saint-Placide toward Oka. Route 344 becomes Rang Ste-Philomène as you reach Kanesatake. Customers starting on the Ontario side often look at our Ottawa page for their options.

How we compare to shopping in Gatineau
In Gatineau, the SQDC is Quebec’s government cannabis retailer and the provincially authorized option. For SQDC branch locations and hours in Hull or Gatineau, its own store locator is the reliable source. We respect that people shop around.
We are a different kind of stop: an Indigenous-women-owned shop with fair everyday pricing and staff who ask what you want instead of upselling.
Looking for medical cannabis? That runs through a separate federal pathway: Health Canada’s process starts with a medical document from a health care practitioner and registration with a federally licensed seller. We are not part of that system, so please talk with your practitioner.
The legal picture, told straight
In Quebec, the SQDC is the only government-authorized cannabis retailer. The provincial minimum age is 21, the public possession limit is 30 grams of dried cannabis or its equivalent, and home cultivation is prohibited.
Bear’s Den operates outside that system, under asserted Indigenous-sovereignty principles on Sovereign Kanesatake Mohawk Territory. That is our own position, not a statement from any government. We are not the SQDC, and we do not speak for federal or provincial authorities. Please never drive high.
